High up in the mountains, the eastern fringes of the Himalayas, in NW Yunnan Province, lies a mountainous paradise. Believed to be the place where James Hilton's famed book 'Lost Horizons' was based on, it has quickly been dubbed and officially renamed Shangarila by the Chinese Government. The original name Deqin is still used by the local people and is a region overflowing with beauty and rich culture.
