Jintana Kaewkhaw is one of Thailand's most prominent environmental activists and the leader of Natural Preservation Network of Bo Nok and Hin Krud in Prajuab Kirikhan province. 20 years ago this mother and shop keeper from a small village on Thailand's southern coastline lead her community through a battle with a coal powered power plant that planned to be built on the edge of their community. By learning the law and refusing to back down despite 4 attempts on her life she used the legal system and regular protests to stop the plants construction. Her life changed course forever during these years and whilst she still runs her small shop she continues to fight against other polluting industrial projects that threaten her community and is now a special adviser to Thai National Human Rights Commission.
